There is No Point In Coming Up to the Desk

March 31, 2012

The woman at Icelandair announced that if we looked outside the front window we would see our bags being unloaded from our plane. Our plane had a faulty switch. Which switch I don’t know. But a switch important enough that we couldn’t fly to Iceland. And we will have to wait until the flight from Iceland arrived – three hours later. She announced that we would most likely miss our connecting flights. And the team in Iceland would work during our 6-hour flight to re-book/reconnect us. She told us not to come up to the front desk. She did not have any answers.

So my French vacation is delayed and already off schedule. But I shall not worry, that first glass of wine in Paris will be amazing.

The woman next to me is from Blaine. She has never left the country besides Canada and she is heading for London for a week. Her boyfriend left to call their family. She smiled at me when I ventured to find power outlet. Black Hole Sun plays over the speakers. And I wait.
