Today I got the redemption I have been looking for my entire life – the Seahawks won a playoff game. I was one and half when the Seahawks last won their playoff game in 1984. In the past 21 years, they made it to the playoffs six times and lost all six times. The most painful lost was in Green Bay and Seattle won the coin toss in overtime, and Matt Hasselback said, “We want the ball and we are going to score.” Of course, Matt threw an interception run back for a touchdown.

Other teams around me have been successful. When I was in high school, our women’s basketball team was seventh in State. Also, our football team beat Prosser and ended their 75 game winning streak. At EWU, the football team beat Montana who had a 25 game winning streak and the basketball team went to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. And while I am here at UW, the basketball team is great and the volleyball team won a national championship. Even the Mariners and the Sonics have done well. The Seahawks just have to win one more game and they will go to the Superbowl. Lets cross our fingers and hope for the best.
